Lo Drew, what do you do?

Hi! My name is Lo Drew and I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana where I grew up loving art, animals, and enjoying time outside. I am currently a senior (who needs to take a fifth year) at CU studying studio art and strategic communications. Art has always been a huge part of my life as its played a major role in being a healthy outlet for me. I have always found that I can navigate and process emotions and events better through the self exploration that art entails. I love multi-media artwork and particularly love sculpture, but I also enjoy painting, drawing, writing, and collage. I like to work with either emotional or very fun themes and usually use bright colors either way. I take a lot of inspiration from women, poetry, pop art, vintage magazines, and nature. I like making vibrant work that catches the viewers eye. Some artists who I really admire are Lisa Yuskavage, Yayoi Kusama, and Henri Matisse. Art history and color theory are also deep art interests of mine as I find the stories and context behind art to be fascinating. After college, I hope to find a career either in PR or curation and continue to create work for the love of making work on the side. Outside of school and art, in my free time, I like to read, cook, see my friends, make crafts, and, unfortunately, watch reality TV. I am still very new to digital art but cannot wait to learn more and become more efficient using different digital softwares.
