This creature is a singing, dancing candle. They are mostly found in haunted and/or abandoned mansions. Although they are rare, they are not shy and tend to belt out in song immediately after being located. Their wax continually melts and yet it takes years and years for the candle to actually melt down into nothing. However, once they melt down finally they sing their last song, a ballad, to say goodbye and move on to their next life.
This is the Great Halloween Pumpkin. Every October, he appears in a pumpkin match out of nowhere and, each year, is larger than the year before. When visited, the Great Pumpkin will sing you spooky songs as well as whisper to you ghost stories from centuries of Halloween celebrations. Their voice is low and raspy, dry from being underground all year long. Once the clock strikes midnight on Halloween, they disappear instantly until next years Halloween.
This was a project that I really enjoyed creating while I learned how to use Blender. I’m very much a beginner with this program so it was difficult at first to learn how to use the elements to create shapes and figures. However, I think I improved a lot by the time I was done since I went from not knowing anything to designing two full creatures/objects for this project. I decided to go along with a Halloween theme because of how much I love the holiday and also to create figures out of simpler shapes, such as a round pumpkin or tall candle. I created the candle first and somewhat struggled with making it look as though it was melting but I am pleased with the final product. The second creature I created was a pumpkin which definitely could have been a little neater and cleaner but I was also pleased with how it turned out. The only regret I have with this project is that I didn’t animate either of the creatures before turning them in. I wanted to animate the candle to look as though it was swaying side to side as well as animate the pumpkin to look like he was bobbing up and down. The reason I didn’t accomplish this final addition to either of the living souls was because I had a somewhat difficult spring break where I dealt with some personal family matters and, as a result, was unable to complete this project how I wanted to. However, I hope to add the animation later on and am still proud of what I created and am hopeful that I can continue to learn and improve on Blender.
